Ajnkana closes out Greyscale's schedule for 2023 with his first long player for the label. A veteran of 4 appearances and fast becoming a favorite on the Mood Series, we are extremely excited to host his first full-length project "Integers Equations". With over 60 minutes of classy tracks 9 that are all given code names hiding any description of their intentions; let's use their track position for this blurb. This album is filled with tunes that are as rich as they are steely and industrial sounding, combining effects, distortion, and the clanging of surface on surface with tangibly eerie, atmospheric chords. At various BPMs, each track can find playability on a deep dancefloor, a long driving trip or a comfy couch during a cold winter day. Specifically, #2 while remaining a lower BPM, becomes quite the sick head-nodder. A slow banger in the upmost! Track 4 gives off an adventurous expedition sound that is daring and cavernous in what feels like is some cold remote mountain range. #5 equally gives off a similar vibe. Forward thinking techno like this is particularly exciting. These are enthralling examples that challenge the listener then surprise you with a strong techno fist. This is a shinning specimen at the power that can be found in techno. #6 gives you a touch of house sound but only a chord away from the darker territory. Make no mistake, there is no question these are for the headstrong. #7 offer some tension relief for just a minute while this one bathes in a other-worldly dub loop. The album's longest piece, it really captures a feeling of time lost. Triumphantly, the last piece closes out in fine form with a beautiful ambient piece. After a series of well-received EP's for the Mood Series, Ajnkana did not disappoint for this album. 'Integers Equations' is a powerhouse of dub techno. Available on CD and Digital.
