about

Greyscale is happy to announce the latest Mood Series by the Swiss based Mjulev. 'Gravity Waves' is 4 tracks of top-tier deep techno that yearns for some serious club play but also demands repeat listens at home or on the road. Mjulev is focused on the deeper meanings of life's questions while being inspired to make music. 'What exists?' and 'and what does not?' are always accompanied by the question 'why are we here?'. Time, space, non-existence, being and non-being are topics he says that surround us in our everyday life. Mjulev goes on to say if we have the urge, it's up to us if we want to find the answers to those questions. If this is the soundtrack to those questions, we will enjoy the journey. 'Cosmic Drift' is a super cool opener that is clean, techy and highly addictive. There is just enough house appeal that can lend it to be played day or night while still remaining deep and hypnotic. The title track on the other hand, means business. This seriously wicked and ominous techno pattern is one of the most sinister we have heard in some time. We like how the track almost merges into a progressive house groove that is reminiscent of the late 90s sound. Very cool! 'Star Dust' rocks a Cologne styled techno sound that is sure to get the heads nodding to this minimal tech track. Who says dub techno fun isn't fun?! 'Zero Gravity' is a bit more down and grittier but still flighty and brisk. This track is light and airy above the percussion parts to give you a great head in the cloud's atmosphere feel. For Mjulev, music is one of many answers to the lifelong riddle of 'why are we here?'. Creating something that brings joy to himself and others is his biggest motivation and it creates something that hopefully will exist far longer than he will. We think Mjulev has succeeded immensely in these aspects for Mood Series #99. This release is available now in digital.
