Mood Series #72 titled 'Locked Doors' comes to us courtesy of the very talented and upcoming Ajnkana. '5 19' is a super cool opener that has the perfect amount of tech and smoothness to it. Heady but restrained. Hypnotizing, yet it is pushing the boundaries of the rhythm constantly. Pure class right there. '6 58' is a journey deep into the subconscious. A bold chord beginning soon leaves as a more muted technique plays tricks on your sense. Down deep as you sync in this abyss of audio euphoria. Powerful sounds from Ajnkana. '11 26' is another well-paced piece where what isn't there is as important as what is there. A deep understanding of dub is being presented here. These are definitely unlocking our doors of perception. The album concludes with the most reggae-tinged dub track in '12 9' which returns the album back to the origins. 'Locked Doors' is a prime example at the Mood Series and why the future of the genre is bright. Ajnkana's return to the label has us all excited for their future in the scene. They are one to look for. Brilliant release!
