Inner Conflict [GRSCLM059]

by Subliminal

Circle Limit 06:00
Sapore 05:50

The debut album 'Inner Conflict', from German artist Subliminal is latest Mood Series for Greyscale. #59 in fact since we are counting. This EP was written on a recent trip the artist had by himself thru some places he had not visited before. From introspective parts to some real outgoing highs. 'Cold Affirmation' kicks things off with a momentous builder that has just the right amount of tension balancing a shimmering melody that rises from depths. 'Circle Limit' certainly has a classic Berlin techno sound to it. In your face and somewhat relentless on the energy, it's edging on a transition to more peak time cuts on a serious tip. Put on your seatbelt for that ride! The title track might be the most dub offering here with its stripped down broken beat offsetting the rising chords. The atmosphere really ties everything together. The last track 'Sapore', has Subliminal flexing his muscles and confidence of a brighter future with this victorious ending. This reflective solo journey gave him the inspiration to reflect on his life in general. Ultimately, this EP is about life's ups and downs. When asked what does he want to get across with his music he said 'I generally try to make music that people can listen to in whatever state of mind they are in. Give them something to guide them through the rollercoaster ride which is life itself'.
He conquered that.
