Japanese artist Altone, brings us their 'Echo Node' EP. This three track excursion explores the innermost corners of deep dub. 'Buoyancy' and its drum pattern plays tricks with your equilibrium while chords strike highly addictive measures of delay. 'Degeneration' calms the nerves with its most soothing trip into an altered state of dub. Be aware though. This track will have you seeing shadows in the dark with its eerie personality. 'Engage' finishes off the EP with track in the style similar to Vainqueur. Cold and stark, this harkens back to classic Berlin styled dub techno from 90s. Altone has the skills to become a major player in the genre and will certainly be a name that revisits the Mood Series in the near future.

Rather than answering why do I love this album, I am gonna offer another question. Why don't you own it already? This is Dub Techno for the connoisseur. This is a piece of class music. I see it as a tribute to the bootlegs from back when vinyl was all there was. Ahh, times do change. Go ahead and download it, the music's boss. Bethelina_DJ
