Mood Series #53 comes to us from across the Atantic Ocean in the United States of America. Seattle, to be exact but inspired more so by the artist's time spent in Norway among the beautiful landscapes. BT Gate X-138 aka JimD explains 'The music I write reminds me of long journeys..'. '..I try to create these paths with music, painting the vision with sound, field recordings and a touch of deep noise.' Titled 'Bolide', this 4 track EP paints an audible picture for you. 'Lake Chebarkul' encompasses all that and then some in a cold climate atmosphere. The depth of this production is worth noting along with the dynamic bass notes not found in your ordinary dub techno. 'Ozero Kurlady' offers a summery balearic mood to this track with brilliant success. Lastly, 'Over Kurgan' ends the story with a focus on strong evolving chords over a mostly beatless canvas. 'Bolide' offers a strong point of view on the genre's sound, pushing envelope's along the way. Dynamic sounds thru and thru!

This afternoon, I put on Mediterranea as something to enjoy in the background. Instead, after just a few minutes, I found myself lying in bed, the sun setting through my window, curtains fluttering in the wind, exhaling and inhaling with the rhythm of the music (I feel like there's even a specific layer for this). Even the coastal Californian weather synced up to that of a late summer in the Mediterranean. It was truly a transporting experience. Μaπ Β
