Mood Series #66 takes us across the Atlantic to the Unites States with Samuel Wallner. 'Sundown Trax' brings us four individual examples of wonderfully produced dub techno. Samuel might be a new name to most but after hearing this EP we are sure you will remember his name. 'Able' is a euphoric builder with an excellent club pace to it. This piece is streamlined and efficient with a trance-like over-arching melody. A definite home run for those hazy and shimmering happy vibes. 'Sly Time' is tremendously spacious with some beautiful melodic elements that reverberate off each other in very hypnotic way. Classy and smooth, this is sure to sound amazing on an excellent sound system. 'Loner' explores a slightly electro beat to work harmoniously with the chords. A deep bass creates a bit of a funk while the surrounding atmospheric parts fill in the audio spectrum nicely. This adds a nice change of pace while being unique in its own right. Lastly, 'Little Track' brings up the rear of the EP. A dreamy melody acts like a blanket over a well-constructed groove. Almost giving off a feeling of downtempo or electronica here with these gems. It's great to hear producers expanding what dub techno can be and 'Sundown Trax' surely succeeds at this. Samuel Wallner is sure to be a name to watch in the future and we wish to thank him for his contributions to the Mood Series.
