Germany as we know, is and has been a hot bed of deep techno music ever since the wall fell down in 1989. New artist's are raised there surrounded by sounds from the night. Vassim Koes is certainly in tune with the history and understands the human and organic element that is needed to inject a more natural sound to the rigid sides of techno. 'All Sorted' is his example of doing just that but keeping things spontaneous taking a live jam approach versus a normal pre-programmed, paste and copy or even a more studio approach with overdubs. Mistakes can be made by taking these risks but also moments of accidental magical spontanaity. As you listen through 'Gibon' you get the hint that he is on to something more unique than the usual. And it works well. 'MadProfessor' is a prime time dancefloor builder that gives us great party flashbacks. A great dirty tech groove that just does not quit! 'Sorter' is a flighty aerial that feels like you are listening about the clouds while 'Dubspace' closes things on a serious chill out dub tip. This EP has something for everyone. Vassim Koes makes a fine Greyscale debut on Mood Series #89
